MLB DFS: Best DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for April 15, 2021

Detroit Tigers catcher Wilson Ramos is tied with Atlanta’s Ronald Acuna Jr. for the MLB lead in home runs with six heading into a 9:40 p.m. ET road game Thursday against the Oakland Athletics. Ramos is hitting .278 with eight RBIs and seven runs scored in 2021 — speaking to the Tigers’ inability to keep runners on base when he comes to the plate. Is Ramos set to pay dividends out of the MLB DFS player pool Thursday?

At $4,100 on DraftKings and $3,400 on FanDuel, the savvy owners can certainly add Ramos to MLB DFS lineups with plenty of budget to spare. And with thousands on the line in MLB DFS tournaments, 50-50s and cash games, getting your MLB DFS strategy perfectly tuned is quite lucrative. Before making any MLB DFS picks for Thursday’s action, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Wednesday, McClure had Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe as one of his top options on DraftKings. The result: Lowe hit a solo home run to produce at least 14 points on both sites. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season rolling on Thursday, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for April 15, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Thursday is Lowe again, this time for $4,500 on DraftKings and $2,800 on FanDuel. Lowe is off to a slow start in 2021, hitting .200 with one home run and four RBIs. Lowe also had two doubles and has scored five runs so far in 12 games.

Lowe’s price point is so cheap likely because he has struck out 14 times against six walks, but don’t let that stat fool you. Lowe smacked a solo home run in Wednesday’s game against Texas, and gets right-hander Jordan Lyles (1-0, 4.50 ERA) and the Rangers to complete their series Thursday — which is preferred, as Lowe is hitting 182 points better against right-handers vs. southpaws. McClure figures Lowe will get back to his familiar form Thursday, and recommends him in all MLB DFS formats.

Part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy also includes rostering rostering Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy for $5,300 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel. Muncy is hitting .368 so far this season with two home runs and seven RBIs. Muncy doubled and homered against the Rockies on Tuesday en route to a 31-point output on FanDuel.

Muncy has played the Rockies more than any other team so far in 2021, with his home run, all but two RBIs, a double and and triple coming against Colorado. Muncy is delivering a robust average of 14.6 MLB DFS points per game on DraftKings so far this season. And with a Thursday matchup against Colorado lefty Austin Gomber (0-2, 2.89) on tap, it is another big chance for Muncy to lead your MLB DFS lineup.
