My hippie mother holding someone’s pet raccoon some time in the late 60s
Did she stay a hippie or did she fall out of the hippie lifestyle?
*Someone’s* raccoon? That’s the raccoon of Jefferson Airplane drummer Spencer Dryden, which famously disappeared during their 1968 show in Sacramento and led to the epic fight that broke up the first incarnation of the band and was never solved and you know it. Your mom is in deep trouble.
So you’re half raccoon?
A raccoon and a fox!
I'm trying to talk to you nice folks but the 15 minute timeout in between replies is *r i d i c u l o u s*
your mom is gorgeous
This photo is top tier. Thank you for sharing!
Is your mom Linda Cardellini by chance?
The background looks like south Orange County
Looks like Laguna Beach! Definitely would make sense given the Hippie craze @ the time.
My hippie parents had a pet Skunk (descented) in the 70's
She's a beauty!
she looks like the girl from ferris buller
Great pic. You’re mom is beautiful
Early or mid 70’s, I think, judging by that car.
Beautiful woman. Your mom looks like a Kennedy.
Raccoons look so cute in pictures But every one I see in real life looks like they want to rip your face off.
Wow, she’s so beautiful! Your mother is ok too :p
Great picture. I love your mum's expression, happy and laid back. Could you pass on to her that I think she has unusually beautiful hands?
Life would be simple in the forest, except for.... Cyril Sneer.
The raccoon reminds me of Mick Jagger. “Is the picture over? Okay please can we move on?”
She looks like a brunette Maria Sharapova
That would make a killer online dating profile pic.
Being on blue acid be like....” this rainbow coloured doggy so so soft and only little bit scratchy”
PCH & Broadway St. - Still a Political Activist's gathering point. Classic Photo at a Classic Location. Nice.
... you forgot to mention she’s really stoned, too
My mom used to have a pet raccoon named Cookie monster.
What kind of camera was this taken with? Looks awesome
my apologies if this is too personal but where did you find this photo? I often find my grandparents photos when i look through their photo album or jewelry box.
showed this to my dad and he thinks this raccoon might have belonged to someone in my uncle Mike's crowd at the time. my dad was still in LA (too young for the scene in the 60s) but his older brother ran off to laguna. Wonder if your mom and my uncle crossed paths. crazy how similar laguna looks then and now, thanks for sharing this
Hippies didn’t wear velour track suits. (source: am old)
She looks like Nicolas Cage.
Wow, Aubrey Plaza just doesn't age a bit.
Insert beaver joke
This camera is clear asf!
Very cool. Opossum is better though lol
